Mairlina exhibition

Come and visit this exhibition of the artist Mairlina in the Tourist Office of Beauraing. Open every day from 8.30am to 12pm and from 1pm to 5pm. Admission is free.

Here is a presentation by Mairlina… by Mairlina :

“I was born in La Roche in the Ardennes, Val du Bronze. This means that the power of materials was in me… In 1952, under a double zodiac sign. This means that I had to deal with this duality… The taste for making stencils started in 1968.

I work with wallpaper that I cut up finely to make paintings, the frames of which are usually taken from old amateur paintings. I restore these frames which give an extra touch to my paintings. It is a technique that I have invented, mastered and refined over the years. I am therefore the only one (probably even worldwide) to work on wallpaper in this way.“
