Danielle Belle-Josse exhibition
The Danielle Belle-Josse exhibition will be on show at the Beauraing Tourist Office from 19 to 31/07/2024. The artist’s works will be on display every day from 8.30am to 12pm and from 1pm to 5pm. Admission is free.
“YOU CAN KEEP YOUR VOICE QUIET OR HOLD BACK A GESTURE, BUT YOU CAN’T HIDE YOUR EYES”.
Born in Carnières (Hainaut – Belgium) in 1940.
A self-taught painter, Danielle Belle-Josse has a marked preference for depicting children,
because it has to be said that they were her focus of interest during her career as a teacher.
In her portraits of children in particular, but also in her depictions of scenes
of everyday life, she gives a great deal of importance to the gaze:
“You can keep your voice quiet or hold back a gesture, but you can’t hide your eyes”.
She has won a number of prestigious awards:
- Mos’art d’or from the town of Yvoir in 2005.
- Second prize for “Art Balade” in Charleroi in 2004.
- First prize “Art Balade” in Charleroi in 2005.
- International gold medal and special mention from the jury
- at the “Grand Prix International de Wallonie” in 2005, 2006, 2007.
- International gold medal from the “Académie Européenne des Arts”.
- in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008.
- In 2009, Grand Prix – Médaille de Vermeil of the “Académie Européenne des Arts”.
